Saadat Hasan Manto (11 May 1912 – 18 January 1955)

Manto was an Indo-Pakistani short story writer, playwright, and author born in Ludhiana. Writing mainly in Urdu, he produced almost 22 short stories, a novel, and five series of radio plays.

Saadat Hasan Manto was a controversial figure in his own time, and he continues to be criticized by some people today. His work was often considered to be obscene and vulgar, and he was accused of being amoral and nihilistic. Manto’s stories often dealt with taboo subjects such as sex, violence, and poverty.
